Extra Night's Stay?

Notice to Guests who left Saturday the 28th of August after the forest fires of the 22nd.

Ibiza Yoga Ltd is sorry that you were evacuated from the Villas and Benirras beach area following the wild fire that started 20 minutes into the first Yoga class of the week.  We are happy that no one was injured.

Many guests and staff members lost possessions.  Ibiza Yoga went from a team of 10 staff down to 3 and our maintaining all usual standards was put to the test.  Our cook suffered smoke inhalation and was unwell for the remainder of the week. Though several attempts were made, we were not able to find a replacement chef at short notice, therefore we were unable to supply the daily meal however some food was provided.

The 1500 people evacuated from Benirras were taken to either Port San Miguel or San Antoni.  The division of the Ibiza Yoga group as a whole was made by the Red Cross on the first night in Port San Miguel. Each group was taken to a local hotel. We were in touch with the British Consul through out this process for the guests and staff who had lost their passports.

The following day, under considerable pressure and cost, Ibiza Yoga was able to rent  3 villas with swimming pools to facilitate each group . Possessions from the guests rooms at the yoga centre were bought to each villa.

Under the catasthropic, hectic and dangerous circumstances following the fire, we did our very best to provide our guests with the best holiday possible, attempting to meet everyone’s expectations.

Despite the stress of the evening of Sunday 22nd we hope you were able to make the most of the holiday that you did have and that the yoga provided by Jasmine and Rebecca was of benefit to you.  We tried to organise a group meeting to discuss the running of the new program but this proved hard and the logistics were not easy.

The owners put their two young children with a local UK family (whom we had not met before) who had space and children of a similar age - allowing us to focus on the job in hand but transport was an issue. We would have liked to have met with each guest and we are sorry this proved impossible . Louise did a very good job of representing the company she lost nearly all her own possessions and helped others in the same situation.

Ibiza Yoga values her guests and hopes that you will return to our retreat. Though we are neither responsible nor liable for the fire and the ensuing chaos, it is important to us that our guests feel content with our attempts to pull together alternative accommodations and amenities in keeping with your expectations last minute. Should you, for whatever reason, feel that we failed in doing so, we are happy to discuss with you some form of compensation, should you decide to visit us in the future. If you would be so kind as to contact us at info@ibizayoga.com, we will judge each case based upon individual merit. As we are a small firm and were faced with high unexpected costs after the fire, we regret that cash alternatives are not an option.

We hope you understand the circumstances surrounding this fire were completely out of our control and that we did our very best for you under a lot of pressure.

We would have liked to email you all individually, but with the decreased staff size and new guests coming in, time is not on our side, With new arrivals coming today , maintenance ,staff rebuild and produce all have to be in order to facilitate those not caught up in the chaos of the 22nd.  We therefore chose to inform you by posting this statement on our site.

We would like to thank all guests for their co-operation in the past week, and we ask for your understanding.

Kind Regards,

Ibiza Yoga Ltd
